2022 WAFCON: Super Falcons beat Cameroon to earn Semi-final and World Cup Tickets, face Morocco on Monday

By Emmanuel Oladele - The Super Falcons of Nigeria on Thursday outclassed the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in the quarterfinal of the ongoing 2022 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, 1-0 it ended in favour of Nigeria.

After a goalless first half, Atletico Madrid forward Rasheedat Ajibade scored the only goal for the Super Falcons in the second half. Great footwork from Okobi, well delivered to Onumonu who powered a superb cross to Rasheedat Ajibade in Cameroon area, the prolific Ajibade sent a brilliant header past Cameroonian goalkeeper Gabrielle Bawou in the 56th minute.

Nigeria have now qualified for the WAFCON semifinal and will play host Morocco at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat on Monday 18th July, the kickoff time is 21:00 Nigeria Time (+1 GMT).

The Randy Waldrum led have also earned the ticket for the 2023 Women's World Cup in Australia/New Zealand.
