In Aba on Saturday, Enyimba defeated relegation threatened Katsina United by 2-1. Sunshine Stars of Akure recorded a massive 3-0 win over visitors Lobi Stars in Ijebu-Ode, while Kano Pillars got an important 1-0 away win over unpaid Heartland FC of Owerri.

On Sunday, Struggling Shooting Stars FC of Ibadan got a vital away win over MFM FC of Lagos at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere. The fight for the top spot between Rivers United and Remo Stars ended in a 1-1 draw, while Kennedy Boboye's Akwa United defeated Niger Tornadoes away from home, 1-0 it ended in favour of the defending champions. Following a 1-1 draw in the game between Rivers United and Remo Stars, Rivers United continue to stay at the top of the log with 19 points, though they shared the same number of points with Remo Stars but edged the Ikenne based team on goal difference.
