2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup Qualifiers; Date, Participating Teams and Other Details

By Emmanuel Oladele - FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup Qualifiers will hold from February 10-13, 2022.

Sixteen team will be competing for 12 spot of the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup. The 16 teams that will be competing in the qualifiers are;


>>>ASIA - Four Teams

• Australia

• China

• Japan

• Korea


>>>AFRICA - Two Teams

• Nigeria

• Mali


>>>AMERICA - Four Teams

• USA

• Puerto Rico

• Brazil

• Canada


>>>EUROPE - Six Teams

• Serbia

• France

• Belgium

• Belarus

• Bosnia and Herzegovina

• Russia


Note: Australia gets automatic qualification as the 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup host, also, defending Champions USA have also qualified for the tournament, following their Tokyo 2020 Women's Olympic Basketball feat. Other 10 teams will join Australia and USA from the qualifying tournament.



The draw for the World Basketball Women's Tournament Qualifiers holds in November, and the Venue of the qualifying games will be announced prior the qualifiers.

According to FIBA Official Website, "there will be four tournaments, with each event featuring four teams. The top three teams from each event will earn their place in the flagship global women’s basketball tournament. For the Qualifying Tournaments with Australia and the USA, the two other best-placed teams will advance."

The 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup will take place in Sydney, Australia, from September 22 to October 1, 2022, and it's the 19th edition of the glamorous women's event.
