Three Super Eagles Stars that could win African Footballer of the Year Award Soon

Nigeria Super Eagles is having some prospects that could soon win African Footballer of the Year Award.

Nigfooty Sports is looking at these three Super Eagles players who could turn out to become Africa Player of the Year Award Winner.


1. Victor Osimhen - The Lille Striker is one of the Super Eagles prospects that could win  the African Footballer of the year award in coming years. The 21-year-old has made his mark for Lille and the Super Eagles of Nigeria with his recent performance in club and national team, he has so much represented Nigeria well since the exit of former Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo, scoring goals in the 2021 AFCON Qualifiers.

He has also been impressive at the club level, scoring 18 goals in 38 appearances for Lille in all competitions in the just cancelled season. His performance in the French Ligue 1 has triggered so much speculation about the 21-year-old with European Giants like Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Napoli seeking for the service of the youngster. He also won the Lille Player of the 2019/2020 season and also made Ligue 1 team of the season.

He's still growing and becoming Africa Best Player at certain time is imminent.

2. Wilfred Ndidi - The Leicester City midfielder is today rated one of the best defensive midfielder in the English Premier League after putting up a superb performance for the Foxes since joining the premier league side, he's wanted by Arsenal, Manchester United and Juventus. Ndidi is very good at making tackles and his ability to distribute passes in the midfield is one of the key area that gives him the edge over other defensive midfielder.

He has also been consistent for the Nigeria Super Eagles and he's also a prospect to win the African Footballer of the Year Award as the 23-year-old is currently one of the best Player in Africa.

3. Samuel Chukweze - The 21-year-old is another player who has been consistent for the Nigeria Super Eagles since the last AFCON in Egypt, he's known for his dribbling skills, speed, crossing ability and his accurate long range left-footed shots from the right wing are some of the attributes that made him take after former famous Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben.

He has been superb for his club Villarreal against top teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid, making top defenders of the World football to lay downward on the grass with his dribbling ability. Chukweze is still growing and he's also been eye by top clubs in Europe like Chelsea, Liverpool and others.

The player is also looking good to become a big player and could become the best in Africa one day.
