Nigeria U-23 star Taiwo Awoniyi has proved himself by scoring a well taken goal for Mainz 05 in the German Bundesliga on Sunday.
It was his first goal of the 2019/2020 Bundesliga season, having featured in six games before today's week 26 battle.
The visitors weren't fancied against FC Koln but they fought back from a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 thanks to the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup winning striker.
Goals from Mark Uth and Florian Kainz put Koln on the ascendancy at the RheinEnergieSTADION.
The visitors clearly needed reinforcements from the bench and Dong-Won Ji was subbed off for Taiwo Awoniyi in the 56th minute.
The Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi relished the perfect chance to open his Bundesliga goal diary with a typical box 18 striker effort. He pocked home at the near post following a low cross from Bote Baku at the right.
Pierre Kunde completed the comeback with a fine equaliser for the visitors who had something to take home.
