Lampard Contact Napoli Striker for a Possible Summer Move

By Oladele Emmanuel - Frank Lampard continues to make plans as to bolster his squad this summer when the transfer window opens.

In a bid to strengthen Chelsea's attack, Lampard has contacted Napoli Striker Dries Mertens and seems to have convinced him to join Chelsea this summer as the Napoli forward becomes a free agent at the end of the current season.

A Sky Italian Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio confirmed that Lampard has contacted the Belgian for a possible switch to Stamford Bridge in the Summer.

Standard Sport revealed that Chelsea attempted to sign Mertens during the January Transfer Window, but seems things did not work out.

The 32-year-old made 226 appearances for Napoli since joining the club in 2013 from PSV, scoring a total of 90 goals.
