Gift Monday: The Only African Who Made Goal.Com List of Top 10 Best Wonderkids in Women's Football

Goal.com has tipped Gift Monday for the greatest as she was the only young African star worthy enough to make the top ten best wonderkids in women's football.

Gift Monday made her international debut for Nigeria at the u20 women world cup held in France in 2018 where the Christopher Danjuma’s side crashed out of the biennial competition in the quarter finals stage. The 18 year old didn’t actually have an eventful world cup after failing to register a goal or an assist in three games.

In the qualifiers she scored three goals in three games including a brace against the Basetsana of South Africa where the falconets thrashed and humiliated them 2-0 away and 6-0 at home bringing the total aggregate to 8-0. All together she banged in three goals for nigeria at the Caf qualifying stage.

One year later, she redeemed and retrieved herself after attesting to be a key figure for Nigeria at the all African games campaign as she led Nigeria to gold for the first time in 12 years scoring Nigeria's first goal in the process.

According to goal.com she is “a fantastic finisher and a threat in the air, the teenage forward is now getting the chances to make an impact at senior level – but first and foremost, will be a crucial player for Nigeria  under – 20s as they set their sights on qualifying for this year’s World Cup".

The world cup will be staged in Costa Rica and Panama later this year after Nigeria fell short in her bid late last year. The Super Falconet remains one of the most compatible teams that have never missed a world cup before as they look to conserve such "reputable" record.
