2019 FIBA World Cup: Russia defeats Nigeria in a keenly contested encounter

D'Tigers on Saturday in their opening game of the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China were defeated by Russia, 82-77 it ended.

In a keenly contested game, the first quarter ended 18-13 in favour of Russia, while the second quarter ended 22-22 points for both teams. Nigeria had the edge in the third round with 23-18 points advantage.

In the fourth quarter, D'Tigers throw away 8 points and fell to Russia 24-19 points.

Josh Okogie's 18 points, Ike Iroegbu's 12 points and Nnamdi Vincent's 11 points were not enough to prevent Nigeria's defeat in the hand of Russia on Saturday.

At the end of the entire quarters, it was Russia celebrating as Nigeria recorded their first defeat of the tournament, 82-77 points it ended in favour of Russia.
