AFCON 2019: Egypt pip Zimbabwe in tournament opener

Hosts Egypt made a brilliant start to their 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nation in capital city Cairo by one goal to nil.

A solitary first half goal from Kasimpasa striker,Mahmoud Trezeguet ensures a victorious start for the pharaohs in from of a capacity crowd.
Trezeguet's moment of brillant in the 41st minute which left Edmore Sibanda motionless in goal for the Warriors was the only take away in the opening game of the tournament but the Zimbabweans deserves a lot of accolades for their resilience and also making the hosts to dig deep to sustain their lead until the end of the encounter.
Goalkeeper Edmore Sibanda made several crucial saves to deny the Egyptians the chance to increase their lead until he went off injured.

This victory means Egypt are on topping the Group A table with maximum three points pending the game between DR Cong and Uganda on Saturday afternoon.
