Breaking: Ampadu signs new Chelsea contract

Chelsea centre back Ampadu has extended his contract at the club. He has signed a five year contract extension that will keep him at the club till 2023.

Ethan Ampadu is a centre-back and can also play as a defensive midfielder but yet to feature under Chelsea new manager Maurizio Sarri, but when Antonio Conte was in charge he made seven appearances for the London based club.

The 18-year-old Wales International expressed his happiness on Chelsea Official Website, he said: "I'm really proud and happy, I'm looking forward to the next five years and all I have got to do now is continue to work hard, and hopefully good things will happen."

The club director Marina Granovskaia also noted that Ampadu has improved so much since he joined the club. Even though Chelsea is not so much perfect at grooming young stars but the club director believe that Ampadu could be great at the club.

Ampadu is also doing well on the International scene for Wales.

Though Displacing anyone in the Chelsea defence line may be difficult but will be a better replacement for anyone in the Chelsea defence line whenever his service is needed.
