CHAN : Super Eagles Cross Mediterranean

Nigeria secured their first win at the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN), with a narrow 1-0 victory over former winners, Libya on Friday evening.

The first half ended goalless, with both teams struggling to open the scoring.
However, Sunday Faleye netted the only goal of the encounter in the 79th minute.

The win takes the Super Eagles to four points from two matches, after Salisu Yusuf’s men drew their first game with Rwanda .

Libya are now third with three points ahead of their final group match with the impressive Amavubi of Rwanda.

Nigeria’s last group game is against Equatorial Guinea on Tuesday as the two Group C quarter final tickets up for grab.
