Northern African Duo Buddle Rangers and Rivers United Out of Caf Champions League

NPFL Champions Enugu Rangers lost out of the race to win the best club competition in Africa when they won 2-1 at home but lost on 3-5 aggregate scoreline on Sunday to Zamalek of Egypt as they failed to secure a group stage spot while earlier in the weekend, Rivers United lost out of same race after throwing away 3-Goals first leg advantage away in Sudan against Al-Merreikh as Bakri Al Madina first half hattrick was enough to cancel the deficit before the Sudanese side score a late winner to secure a last eight spot.

Rangers and Rivers United will now compete in the Caf Confederations Cup as they will be competing with several other teams to dethrone TP Mazembe of DR Congo.
