To better understand the personality and the profile of the new coach of Desert foxes,the Nigerian press has appealed to one of the former stars of Nigeria who knew the coach very well due to his playing career in the belgian league.

He cautioned that Super Eagles must be wary of the tactical intelligence of George Leekens. "I know  the coach Leekens very well, he's a coach in Belgium. He knows Africa and his experience with Tunisia will be useful, we must really be wary of Algeria", told a local newspaper.

"It is true that the change of coach is not easy for the players at the specific moment but Leekens know how to motivate them and get the ready for a big match like the one that awaits us  when we face Algeria.Suddenly with players like Slimani and Mahrez,the danger will be permanent, the victory becomes more and more difficult for us"

Ikechukwu Ezenwa

The current goalie representing Nigeria, Ikechukwu Vincent Ezenwa said the appointment of George Leekens is a non-event. The goalkeeper of Ifeanyi Ubah CF think that  Algeria cannot resist the attack of his comrades in this highly anticipated duel, which will take place in Uyo Nigeria.The Second Choice to Carl Ikeme speak out of provocation and also promise a tough match for the Algerians. "We are not interested in the appointment of Leekens,we are focusing on getting a victory against Algeria, that is all. Frankly, who cares about what is happening in their camp.Their change of coach is not our business. After that, everyone agrees that Nigeria is well above and nothing will stop us from qualifying,We'll be on top from the beginning to the end.

The Assistant to Gernot Rohr, Salisu Yusuf, was also not interested,What is happening in Algeria doesn't concern us,we are focused on our team and our players only. Leekens or another, it will not affect our goal. The three points will remain in Uyo after the match against Algeria."
