Reasons For Low Publicities For Matches at Abuja National Stadium By Adaeze Esther Eneje

Questions have been asked about low turn up of fans in Abuja for matches involving the National teams Especially the Super Eagles.

Adaeze Esther Eneje who is a Student of Urban and Regional Planning in this short Article address some of the Issues.
The National Stadium is not located where the Masses can easily get access to it based on her research and assessments.

Most people in the Rural Areas are not financially buoyant enough due to the high living standard in Abuja and for the fact that the Stadium is a bit far from the City Centre where they can easily access especially people from Maraba/Nyanya axes.
People in Gwagwalada,Zuba,Bwari,Kuje,Dutse e.t.c don't have the financial muscle to attend matches with an average amount of Two thousand Naira(N2000) which is quite high considering they are not even going there with their Vehicles.

Further more, the well to do people are too busy with their Schedules as most lack football interest and doesn't turn up much.people who are a bit passionate and are always let down by the Low/nonavailability of transportation Buses/Cars while returning to Base. E.g The writer of this Article(Adaeze) went to watch a national team match in Abuja and had to climb a tipper to return to her house after the match.
This development affects F.C Abuja in the past when they were campaigning in the NPFL and the publicity was low to the disadvantage of the home team leading to its Relegation.
As we hope that master plan have space to accomodate more stadiums to give people appetites for live matches and also to Enable Abuja to be hosting the Federations Cup finale in future as it is done across the World.
Whereas, The Amiinu Maigari led NFF were able to mobilize fans fromboundaries to watch the Super Eagles on their way toQualifying for South Africa 2010 World Cup
