SC Villa thrash Police FC 6-1 to move top of Uganda Premier League

Kamwokya — SC Villa produced a dominant display to thrash Police FC 6-1 in the Uganda Premier League on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, climbing to the top of the standings with an emphatic victory at Kira Road Arena.

The 17-time Ugandan champions scored three times before the interval and added three more after the break to record their biggest win of the 2026/27 campaign so far.

Ibrahim Kasinde, John Asiimwe, Frank Ssebuufu, Patrick Jonah Kakande and Jonathan Sausa were among the scorers for the Jogoos, with Ssebuufu netting twice. Bedia Djuma Ikamba scored Police FC’s only goal.

Villa take control early

SC Villa wasted little time establishing their authority, with Kasinde opening the scoring in the eighth minute from a corner delivered by Asiimwe.

Asiimwe then turned provider into goalscorer, doubling Villa’s advantage in the 13th minute after being set up by Ssebuufu.

The visitors continued to dominate proceedings, putting Police under sustained pressure. Ssebuufu added a third on the stroke of half-time, giving Villa a commanding advantage heading into the break.

Ssebuufu and Kakande extend the lead

Villa resumed with the same attacking intensity, and Ssebuufu completed his brace in the 49th minute to make it 4-0.

Kakande added a fifth shortly afterwards, further underlining Villa’s superiority and effectively ending any hopes of a Police comeback.

The Jogoos continued to threaten in attack, while Police struggled to contain their opponents’ movement and finishing in the final third.

Ikamba scores consolation as Sausa completes rout

Police FC finally found the net in the 81st minute through Ikamba, who gave the hosts a consolation goal after a defensive lapse.

However, Villa responded almost immediately, with substitute Sausa scoring in the 83rd minute to restore the visitors’ five-goal advantage and complete the 6-1 victory.

The result handed Police a second consecutive defeat under head coach Matia Lule, while Villa strengthened their position in the early title race.

Goalscorers

• SC Villa: Ibrahim Kasinde 8', John Asiimwe 13', Frank Ssebuufu 45', 49', Patrick Jonah Kakande 48', Jonathan Sausa 83'

• Police FC: Bedia Djuma Ikamba 81'

SC Villa climb to the summit

The victory took SC Villa to 14 points from six matches, keeping them level on points with NEC FC but ahead on goal difference.

Villa have recorded four wins and two draws, maintaining their unbeaten start to the season. NEC also collected three points on Wednesday, defeating Kigezi Homeboyz 2-0 away from home.

Police FC, meanwhile, remained on seven points after six matches and will need to respond quickly to avoid losing further ground in the standings.

What comes next?

SC Villa will look to maintain their momentum as the Uganda Premier League campaign continues, with their next scheduled league fixture against Mbarara City on 22 October.

Police FC will aim to recover from the heavy defeat and return to winning ways in their upcoming fixtures.

Villa’s six-goal performance sends a clear message to their title rivals, although consistency across the long league campaign will be crucial if the Jogoos are to convert their early position at the summit into a sustained challenge for the championship.
