KANO, Nigeria — Barau FC and Rangers International drew 2-2 on Sunday in Nigeria Premier Football League matchday eight at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
O. Ifeanyi put Rangers ahead in the 38th minute. Barau responded to level the score. Rangers appeared set to leave with nothing after falling behind again late in the second half, but C. Nwobodo equalised in the 93rd minute to salvage a point for the visitors.
The late goal rewarded Rangers’ persistence and completed a resilient away display. Barau FC, who had led late, were denied a full victory in front of their supporters. Both sides take a point from a competitive fixture.
Rangers International remain at the top of the table on 17 points from eight games. Barau FC move onto 13 points from eight matches. The result forms part of Sunday’s remaining matchday-eight programme across the league. Rangers will be satisfied with the recovery after trailing late, while Barau will reflect on the opportunity that slipped away in stoppage time.
