An own goal and a strike from tournament top scorer Pau Comendador proved enough for David Aznar’s side, who remain unbeaten at the tournament.
Spain took the lead in the 40th minute when an Italian defender turned the ball into her own net under pressure. Comendador then doubled the advantage in the 56th minute, finishing a swift counter-attack to score her sixth goal of the competition and move clear at the top of the scoring charts.
The Spanish side dominated possession and created the clearer chances throughout, limiting Italy to few meaningful opportunities. Aznar’s team have now won all six of their matches in Poland, scoring 21 goals and conceding just once.
Spain will face defending champions North Korea in the final on Sunday after the Asian side defeated Colombia 3-0 in the other semi-final. The showpiece match is scheduled for 18:00 local time at Stadion Miejski ŁKS Łódź.
The result continues Spain’s impressive run and keeps them on course for a second U-20 Women’s World Cup title, having previously lifted the trophy in 2022.
