Brazil 3-0 Canada: Amarelinha Seal U-20 Women’s World Cup Knockout Place

Bielsko-Biała, Poland: Brazil booked their place in the knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with a convincing 3–0 victory over Canada on Tuesday, maintaining their perfect start to Group B.

Nogueira, Vitorinha and Brendha were on target as Brazil followed up their 4–1 opening-day victory over Tanzania with another three points. The result took Camilla Orlando’s side to six points from two matches, guaranteeing their qualification for the Round of 16 with one group game still to play.

Nogueira Gives Brazil Early Lead

Brazil started aggressively and were rewarded inside the opening seven minutes.

Clarinha was brought down inside the Canadian penalty area, giving Brazil the opportunity to take an early lead from the spot.

Nogueira made no mistake, sending her penalty into the corner to put Brazil 1–0 ahead.

Canada's task became even more difficult midway through the first half when Stephanie Schoeley was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Gisele after the Brazilian attacker had broken towards goal.

The dismissal left Canada with 10 players from the 25th minute, although the North Americans continued to compete and even enjoyed more possession despite being a player short.

Vitorinha Doubles Brazil's Advantage

Brazil made their numerical advantage count shortly after the restart.

Just four minutes into the second half, the Amarelinha recovered possession in the final third before Vitorinha received the ball near the edge of the penalty area.

The midfielder created space and produced a composed finish into the corner to double Brazil's lead.

Vitorinha's goal made it 2–0 in the 49th minute, her second goal of the tournament after she also scored in Brazil's opening victory over Tanzania.

Brendha Completes Comfortable Victory

Brazil struck again only three minutes later.

Vitorinha combined with Dulce on the right before the ball was delivered into the penalty area, where Brendha finished from close range to make it 3–0.

The goal effectively settled the contest and allowed Brazil to manage the remainder of the match without conceding.

Evelin Bonifácio, who scored twice in the opening-day win against Tanzania, was introduced at half-time and contributed an assist during another influential appearance.

Brazil Through to the Round of 16

The victory means Brazil have six points from two Group B matches and are already guaranteed a place in the Round of 16.

The South Americans began the tournament with a 4–1 victory over Tanzania before overcoming Canada 3–0, making them one of the strongest-performing sides in the group-stage opening two rounds.

Brazil are now chasing a first-ever U-20 Women's World Cup title. Their best previous finishes came in 2006 and 2022, when they finished third.

Brazil Face England in Final Group Match

Brazil will conclude their Group B campaign against England on Friday, 11 September, at Bielsko-Biała Stadium.

The match will determine whether the Amarelinha finish the group in first or second place. Brazil currently sit top of the section with six points.

For Camilla Orlando's side, however, the immediate objective has already been achieved: Brazil are through to the knockout stage and remain unbeaten at the tournament.
