All Friday’s AFCON 2027 Qualifier Results as Group Stage Continues

AFRICA — Fourteen matches completed Matchday 1 of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Friday, 25 September 2026.

Algeria, Morocco, Nigeria and Mali all opened with wins. Senegal and Egypt dropped points. Co-hosts Tanzania lost at home to Guinea-Bissau. Kenya and South Africa play on Saturday.

The finals will be held in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Those three nations qualify automatically; only the best of the other three teams in their groups go through. From the remaining groups, winners and runners-up advance.

Nigeria came from behind in Uyo. Senegal were held in Maputo after Jackson’s opener. Egypt could not break Angola down in Cairo.
