Zambia Drawn Alongside Hosts Morocco in Futsal AFCON Group A

LUSAKA, Zambia — The Zambia Futsal National Team has been drawn in Group A for the 2026 TotalEnergies CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations, alongside three-time champions and hosts Morocco.

The draw, conducted in Morocco, placed Zambia in the same pool as Libya and Algeria, setting up a challenging group for Andrea Cristoforetti’s side.

The tournament will take place from 12 to 21 October 2026 and will bring together the continent’s leading futsal nations in a competition that continues to grow in stature and competitiveness.

  • Egypt
  • Angola
  • Mozambique
  • Tanzania

Zambia previously faced Morocco at the 2024 Futsal AFCON and will once again share a group with the hosts. The Copper Bullets have participated in three previous editions of the competition and will be aiming to make a stronger impact on their fourth appearance.

Cristoforetti’s side recently hosted Tanzania in back-to-back friendly matches, recording emphatic 6-0 and 5-0 victories. Those results will provide confidence as Zambia prepare for the continental challenge ahead.

The team will now turn its focus to final preparations for the October tournament in Morocco.
