Yixin Su Clinches World U20 Discus Gold with Final-Round 61.06m

EUGENE, United States — China’s Yixin Su claimed the women’s discus throw title at the 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships with a powerful final-round effort of 61.06 metres.

The throw, a personal best and the world under-20 leading mark of the year, sealed gold for Su after she had already built a commanding lead. She opened with 59.32m and remained in control throughout the competition at Hayward Field.

Jaslene Massey of the United States produced her best throw of the day on her final attempt, reaching 58.41m to take silver. Cyprus’ Marina Hadjicosta earned bronze with a mark of 54.88m.

Su’s victory delivered China’s first gold medal of the championships and underlined her dominance in the event.
