Osimhen scored twice and provided an assist, taking his tally to four goals and one assist from just two league matches this season. The forward is in exceptional form and continues to set the standard for strikers in the competition.
Galatasaray took control of the contest early. Roland Sallai opened the scoring in the 12th minute before Yunus Akgün doubled the lead in the 20th minute, with Osimhen providing the assist for the second goal. The Nigeria international then added a goal of his own on the stroke of half-time to make it 3-0. He completed his brace in the 80th minute to round off a dominant display.
The result gave Galatasaray their first victory of the new Süper Lig campaign and lifted them into a strong position in the early table. For Osimhen, the contribution extended an already remarkable run of direct goal involvements. Across his last 14 league appearances for the club he has now been directly involved in a goal in every single match.
The striker’s start to the 2026/27 season has been nothing short of emphatic. Four goals and an assist in two matches place him among the early pace-setters in the race for the golden boot, while his overall influence on games continues to draw praise from supporters and observers alike.
Galatasaray will take significant confidence from the manner of the victory and from Osimhen’s current form as they prepare for the challenges ahead. The Nigerian remains central to their ambitions both domestically and in Europe, and performances of this calibre will only strengthen his importance to the squad.
As the Süper Lig season gathers pace, all eyes will remain on Osimhen to see whether he can maintain this extraordinary level of output in the weeks and months to come.
