LAGOS, Nigeria — Sporting Lagos have promoted academy striker Fuhad Ojediran to the first-team squad ahead of the new Nigeria Premier Football League season.
The young forward impressed during the 2025/26 campaign with the Sporting Lagos Football Academy, featuring regularly in the TCC competition. His performances have earned him the opportunity to step up and compete at senior level with the club, who recently secured promotion back to the NPFL.
Head coach Jeffery Buter welcomed the promotion, highlighting the striker’s attitude and potential.
“For his age, he’s got the right hunger and fire in his belly; he wants to compete, and that for us is what we want. He’ll get better here,” Buter said.
The move continues Sporting Lagos’ commitment to developing and integrating homegrown talent as they prepare for life back in the top flight. Ojediran will now aim to force his way into the senior matchday squads during the forthcoming campaign.
