Shooting Stars Appoint Salisu Yusuf as New Technical Adviser

IBADAN, Nigeria — Shooting Stars Sports Club have officially appointed experienced coach Salisu Yusuf as their new Technical Adviser.

The CAF A-licensed tactician replaces Nurudeen Aweroro, who left the role recently. Yusuf takes charge of the Oluyole Warriors with immediate effect and is expected to lead the team in both the NPFL and the CAF Confederation Cup.

Yusuf brings more than two decades of coaching experience. He began his managerial career with Nasarawa United in 2002 and has since handled several of Nigeria’s top clubs, including Kano Pillars, Rangers International and Enyimba. He was most recently in charge of Coton Sport in Benin.

At international level, Yusuf has served as an assistant coach with the Super Eagles and has also taken charge of the Super Eagles B and Nigeria U-23 teams. In 2018, he guided the home-based Super Eagles to the final of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco.

Shooting Stars described the appointment as a significant step in their preparations for the challenges ahead. The club highlighted Yusuf’s deep understanding of Nigerian football and his proven ability to develop homegrown talent.

The new Technical Adviser will now begin work with the squad as the Oluyole Warriors continue their build-up to the new season.
