KAMPALA, Uganda — KCCA FC booked their place in the FUFA Super 8 2026 final with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kitara FC at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.
S. Mayanja scored the decisive goal as the Kasasiro Boys produced a disciplined and controlled performance to eliminate the Stanbic Uganda Cup holders.
The match, which served as the first semi-final of the competition, saw KCCA take the lead and then successfully manage the contest against a determined Kitara side. The home team defended resolutely after finding the breakthrough and limited the Royals’ attacking threat for large periods.
KCCA had reached the last four by overcoming BUL FC 4-2 on aggregate, while Kitara advanced after a 4-1 aggregate win over Police FC. The semi-final meeting between the two sides lived up to expectations as a tight, competitive encounter.
The victory marks a strong showing under head coach Brian Ssenyondo and sends KCCA into the final, where they will continue their pursuit of the Super 8 title. Kitara, despite the exit, can take pride in a solid campaign that saw them lift the Uganda Cup earlier in the year.
Attention now turns to the final, with KCCA aiming to convert their semi-final success into silverware as the pre-season tournament reaches its climax.
