Youth Tournament Hosts Confirmed
Egypt has been awarded the hosting rights for the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations, which will also serve as the qualification pathway for the men’s football tournament at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Ghana will host the 2027 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, continuing the country’s strong tradition in youth football.
Morocco has been selected to stage the 2027 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
CAF Super Cup Date Set
The 2026 CAF Super Cup will take place on 8 November in Pretoria, South Africa. Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00 local time. The match will feature the winners of the previous season’s CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.
African Nations League
Discussions regarding the proposed African Nations League are still ongoing. CAF confirmed that neither the final format nor the host countries have been decided yet.
Support for FIFA Leadership
CAF also used the meeting to reaffirm its full support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the leadership of world football’s governing body.
The decisions form part of CAF’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the continental calendar and provide clear pathways for Africa’s emerging talent while maintaining strong ties with FIFA.
