CAF Appeals Committee Overturns Sanctions on Samuel Eto’o

YAOUNDÉ, Cameroon — The CAF Appeals Committee has overturned the sanctions previously imposed on Samuel Eto’o, the president of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT).

Eto’o had been handed a four-match stadium ban and a $20,000 fine by CAF’s Disciplinary Committee. Those punishments have now been cancelled with immediate effect.

FECAFOOT welcomed the ruling, describing it as a demonstration of the independence and fairness of CAF’s legal bodies.

The decision clears the former Cameroon international and Ballon d’Or winner of the restrictions that had been placed on him.
