PRETORIA, South Africa — Mamelodi Sundowns will be without forward Brayan Leon Muniz for their MTN8 quarter-final against Polokwane City on Saturday due to suspension.
The Colombian striker is serving a one-match ban after picking up his fourth yellow card of the previous campaign in Sundowns’ final domestic fixture against TS Galaxy. Under PSL rules, any uncompleted suspension carries over into the new season.
Leon, who scored 10 goals and provided two assists in 15 Betway Premiership appearances last season, will therefore miss the cup encounter.
The absence of the prolific forward presents a challenge for coach Miguel Cardoso as the Brazilians begin their MTN8 campaign.
