Barcelona Claim Joan Gamper Trophy with 2-1 Win Over Al Ahly

BARCELONA, Spain — Barcelona lifted the Joan Gamper Trophy after a 2-1 victory over Egyptian giants Al Ahly at Spotify Camp Nou.

Hamza Abdelkarim opened the scoring in the 28th minute, finishing from close range after good work from Alejandro Balde. Raphinha doubled the lead from the penalty spot just before half-time to give the hosts a comfortable advantage.

Al Ahly responded early in the second half when Zizo reduced the deficit in the 50th minute. The Egyptian side continued to push, but Barcelona held firm. Late drama saw Anthony Gordon miss a penalty that would have sealed the result.

The win allowed Barcelona to close their pre-season on a high note and claim the traditional Joan Gamper Trophy. Al Ahly fought until the final whistle and provided a competitive test for Hansi Flick’s side ahead of the new La Liga campaign.
