CARDIFF, Wales — Arsenal produced a dominant performance to defeat Manchester City 3-0 and lift the 2026 FA Community Shield at the Principality Stadium.
The Premier League champions made a dream start when Riccardo Calafiori opened the scoring after just 24 seconds, finishing clinically from a precise through ball by Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Kai Havertz doubled the lead in the 28th minute, heading home after good work from new signing Christos Tzolis. Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard then sealed the victory early in the second half with a superb solo effort in the 48th minute, dribbling past the defence before finishing past Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The emphatic win marked Arsenal’s 18th Community Shield success and provided a strong statement ahead of their Premier League title defence. It was also a difficult debut in competitive action for new Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca.
Mikel Arteta’s side controlled the contest from the outset and used the second half to rotate players as they prepare for the start of the new domestic season.
