Goals from Ansumana Samura and Abdelrazig Yagoub Omer Taha in the second half proved decisive for the Sudanese side, who held off a late response from Jamus to claim the podium finish.
Second-Half Dominance Seals the Result
The third-place match remained goalless at the interval before Al Hilal took control after the break. Samura broke the deadlock in the 54th minute, giving the Sudanese outfit a vital lead. Omer Taha then doubled the advantage in the 66th minute, putting Al Hilal firmly in command.
Jamus, who had impressed earlier in the tournament by topping their group and reaching the semi-finals, pulled a goal back deep into stoppage time through Majak Simon in the 90+1st minute. However, it proved too little too late as Al Hilal held firm to secure the bronze medal.
Successful Campaign under Guy Bukasa
Al Hilal had been among the favourites heading into the competition and also served as a key sponsor of the 2026 edition. Their bronze medal adds another regional honour to the club’s distinguished record.
Jamus SC, making a strong impression as one of the tournament’s surprise packages, can also take pride in their campaign, which included becoming the first South Sudanese club to progress from the group stage of the CECAFA Kagame Cup.
