RABAT, Morocco — Hosts Morocco sit top of Group A at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after a commanding 4-0 victory over Kenya on the opening day of the tournament.
The Atlas Lionesses lead the group on goal difference from Algeria, who earlier defeated Senegal 2-0.

Algeria opened the tournament with a solid 2-0 victory over Senegal at the Olympic Stadium. Marine Dafeur converted a first-half penalty before Mélissa Bethi sealed the points late on.

Both Morocco and Algeria have made perfect starts and will meet in a key fixture on Thursday, 30 July at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium.
