The Zambia U-17 Women’s National Team, affectionately known as the Copper Princesses, touched down at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport early this morning (01:16) to a warm heroes’ welcome after successfully qualifying for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
The team, led by coach Carol Kanyemba, was greeted by Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) officials including General Secretary Charles Chakatazya, Deputy General Secretary Iva Lengwe, and Head of Media and Communications Nkweto Tembwe.
Qualification Heroics
Zambia booked their ticket to the global showpiece by holding Ethiopia to a 1-1 draw on Sunday, advancing 3-2 on aggregate in a hard-fought qualifier.
This achievement marks a significant milestone for Zambian women’s football, as the Copper Princesses prepare to represent the nation on the world stage.
