The federation is also pioneering the adoption of the more accessible Video Support (VS) system, which utilises pitchside monitors for coach-requested reviews and offers a cost-effective alternative to full VAR infrastructure.

The initiative benefits from collaboration with media partner Azam Media, whose Outside Broadcasting (OB) assets will provide the necessary multi-angle feeds from major venues. This technical support is crucial for enabling real-time video reviews during matches.

The push for VAR and VS technology forms part of Tanzania’s wider preparations to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) alongside Kenya and Uganda.
