KIGALI, Rwanda — Hosts Rayon Sports made a strong start to their 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup Group C campaign with a 2–0 victory over Zanzibar’s KVZ FC at the Amahoro Stadium on Sunday.
Goals from Junior Herman Kameni and Daniel Muhoza secured all three points for the Rwandan side.

The breakthrough came in the 67th minute when Junior Herman Kameni converted a penalty after a foul in the box. Daniel Muhoza added the second goal in the 80th minute to put the result beyond doubt.
The win leaves Rayon Sports level on points with Group C leaders Al Hilal SC, who earlier defeated Tusker FC 2–0 on the same day.
