In a heartfelt message shared on his Facebook page following the team's success, Busari captured the collective spirit of the achievement. "One team. One nation. One dream. Proud to be heading to the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup with the Flamingos. Thank you Nigeria, for standing with us," he wrote.
The Flamingos secured their place at the global tournament after a hard-fought qualifying campaign, culminating in a commanding aggregate victory over Benin Republic. Nigeria's young talents demonstrated resilience and attacking prowess throughout the qualifiers, earning one of Africa's slots for the event scheduled in Morocco later this year.
Unity and Gratitude at the Heart of Success
Busari's words underscore the unity that defined the Flamingos' journey. His message highlights not only the players' dedication but also the support from the Nigerian public and football stakeholders. The coach's emphasis on a shared dream reflects the national pride accompanying the team's qualification.
The Flamingos have a strong history at the U-17 Women's World Cup, including a bronze medal finish in 2022. Their latest qualification continues Nigeria's reputation as a powerhouse in African women's youth football.
Looking Ahead to Morocco
With qualification secured, attention now turns to preparations for the tournament in Morocco from October to November 2026. Busari and his technical team will focus on building on past performances as the Flamingos aim to make a significant impact on the world stage.
The coach's Facebook post has resonated widely, drawing positive reactions from fans who celebrate both the on-pitch success and the values of teamwork and national unity it represents. For Busari, leading the team to this milestone marks a proud chapter in his coaching career and for Nigerian women's football.
This achievement reinforces the growing strength of Nigeria's youth development pathways and sets an inspiring example for young female footballers across the country.
