Homecoming for Experienced Defender
Digne returns to the club where his senior career took off between 2013 and 2016. During his first spell at PSG, he contributed to multiple Ligue 1 titles and domestic cup successes before moving on to Roma, Barcelona, Everton, and finally Aston Villa in 2022.
The move reunites him with manager Luis Enrique, who previously worked with Digne at Barcelona. Enrique is understood to value the veteran’s experience and leadership as PSG look to add depth and competition for places on the left flank alongside Nuno Mendes.

At Villa Park, Digne established himself as a reliable and consistent performer under Unai Emery. He played a key role in the club’s push for European football, including their 2025-26 Europa League triumph, and made more appearances for the Midlands side than at any other club in his career.
Villa are expected to turn to Netherlands international Ian Maatsen as their primary left-back option following Digne’s departure.
