Omewa will link up with fellow Nigerian international Halimatu Ayinde in Gothenburg as she embarks on a new chapter in the Damallsvenskan.

The highly-rated Nigerian international arrives with an impressive European pedigree. During the 2024/25 season with Fortuna Hjørring in Denmark’s Kvindeligaen, Omewa enjoyed a standout campaign, scoring 22 goals in 24 league appearances to claim the Golden Boot. She was also named Danish League Player of the Season and helped her team secure a domestic double.
BK Häcken’s Football Director, Martin Ericsson, welcomed the signing, saying:

The transfer comes at an ideal moment for Omewa’s international career. She has recently broken into the senior Super Falcons setup and impressed by scoring a brace in a 3-0 friendly victory over Senegal.
She has been included in Nigeria’s final squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, which begins on 26 July. Omewa is expected to join the national team camp immediately before linking up with BK Häcken for the latter part of the Swedish season.
