The 22-year-old centre-back, who joined the club from French side RC Lens in January 2025, has been rewarded for his rapid development and consistent performances.
Khusanov made a significant contribution during the second half of the 2025-26 season, featuring regularly as City secured both the FA Cup and EFL Cup. He also represented Uzbekistan at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, starting all three of their group matches on the nation’s tournament debut.
“This is a great day for me and my family – I am really happy to extend my stay at City,” Khusanov said. “I have enjoyed every minute since I arrived in Manchester and I feel I am growing and learning a lot as a player.”
Director of football Hugo Viana praised the defender’s progress, noting the club’s satisfaction with his development since arriving in England.
The new agreement replaces Khusanov’s previous deal and underlines Manchester City’s commitment to building around promising young talent under the new management structure.
