Super Eagles Crush Jamaica 3-0 to Retain Unity Cup Title in London

The Nigerian national team delivered a commanding performance on Saturday night as the Super Eagles defeated Jamaica 3-0 in the final of the 2026 Unity Cup at The Valley in London.

Nigeria entered the final as defending champions and lived up to expectations with a dominant display from start to finish, securing back-to-back Unity Cup titles under head coach Éric Chelle.

The Super Eagles wasted no time asserting their authority in the contest. Midfielder Alhassan Yusuf opened the scoring in just the third minute after reacting quickest to a loose ball inside the penalty area following a dangerous long throw situation. The early breakthrough immediately put Jamaica under pressure and gave Nigeria full control of the match.

Nigeria continued to dominate possession and create the better chances throughout the first half, with Terem Moffi and Femi Azeez causing constant problems for the Jamaican defence. The Reggae Boyz struggled to cope with Nigeria’s movement and intensity as the Super Eagles dictated the tempo from midfield.

After the break, Nigeria doubled their advantage in the 59th minute when Terem Moffi found the back of the net after excellent attacking play involving Femi Azeez. The goal effectively killed off Jamaica’s hopes of a comeback as the Super Eagles continued to look sharper and more dangerous going forward.

The victory was sealed late in the game when Alhassan Yusuf grabbed his second goal of the night in stoppage time, completing an outstanding individual performance and wrapping up a convincing 3-0 triumph for Nigeria.

The final also highlighted the impressive depth in the Nigerian squad, with several emerging players stepping up throughout the tournament. Femi Azeez, who had starred in the semi-final victory over Zimbabwe, once again impressed with his creativity and attacking threat.

Jamaica had entered the match hoping to gain revenge after losing to Nigeria in previous Unity Cup meetings, but the Super Eagles proved too strong on the night. The Reggae Boyz struggled to create clear-cut opportunities as Nigeria’s defence remained solid and disciplined from start to finish.

The triumph marks another positive step for Nigeria under Chelle as the Super Eagles continue preparations for upcoming international competitions and the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Winning the Unity Cup again will also boost confidence among the players and fans after an impressive all-round tournament performance in London.

Nigeria are now officially the kings of the Unity Cup once again.
