Nigeria's Deaf Eagles Soar into Final of West Africa Deaf Football Tournament

The Nigerian Senior National Deaf team, known as the Deaf Eagles, has secured its place in the final of the ongoing 13th West Africa Deaf Football Tournament after a decisive 2-0 victory over Niger in the semi-finals. The match, held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, saw Nigeria’s star forward, Chukwuemeka Ike, deliver a brilliant performance.

Ike was the hero of the day, scoring a brace to seal the win for the Deaf Eagles. His two goals were enough to send the team straight to the championship final, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday. The victory over Niger adds to Nigeria's impressive run in the tournament.

The Deaf Eagles have been in dominant form throughout the competition. They began their campaign with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Côte d’Ivoire in their opening game and followed that with a 3-2 victory against Gambia to top their group. This latest semi-final triumph against the Niger Republic marks a strong statement of intent as they pursue their sixth title. As defending champions, the Deaf Eagles are looking to continue their legacy of success in the tournament.
