Canada Shatter Three-Point Record in Dominant Win Over Nigeria at 2025 FIBA U19 Women's World Cup

Canada's U19 women’s basketball team delivered a commanding performance at the 2025 FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup in Czechia, crushing Nigeria 113-42 and rewriting the tournament record books in the process.

The Canadians set a new record for most three-pointers made in a single game, draining 20 shots from beyond the arc, with sharpshooter Agot Makeer leading the barrage. Makeer went 5-for-7 from deep and tallied 18 points, while Mila Holloway orchestrated the offense with an impressive 9 assists.

In total, eight different Canadian players connected from three-point range, highlighting the team’s offensive depth and shooting efficiency.

For Nigeria, the result marked a tough follow-up to their thrilling 93-88 opening victory over China. In that earlier game, Power Forward Nora Ezike starred with 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists — all in just two quarters — sparking Nigeria’s comeback. She credited her performance to the inspiration drawn from Nigeria’s senior women’s team, D’Tigress, who recently made Olympic history at Paris 2024.

Canada now look like serious contenders for the title, while Nigeria will aim to regroup and bounce back in their next outing.
