Sunderland are on the verge of completing the signing of highly-rated Strasbourg midfielder Habib Diarra in a deal worth around €35 million, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The agreement marks a club-record sale for Strasbourg, underlining Diarra’s growing reputation across Europe. The Senegalese midfielder has attracted attention for his energetic performances and technical quality, with Leeds United also having explored a potential move, although negotiations never progressed.
Diarra’s arrival would represent a major statement of intent from Sunderland as they look to strengthen their squad with top young talent. The 20-year-old is expected to play a key role in the club's ambitions moving forward.
