Mary Akinsola Appointed as New Media Officer for Nigeria’s Super Falcons

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially announced the appointment of Mary Akinsola as the new media officer of the Super Falcons, Nigeria’s Senior Women National Team.

A seasoned media and public relations professional, Akinsola brings more than a decade of experience in sports communications to the prestigious role. Her career spans several top-tier media organizations, including Warner Bros Discovery (Eurosport), where she worked as a production and commentary coordinator, and sportsgazette.uk, where she served as a writer, editor, and digital media manager. She has also hosted and written for ACLSports and previously worked as a sportscaster and producer with the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State.

Armed with a master’s degree in International Sports Journalism from St. Mary’s University, London, Akinsola has managed media operations for high-profile events such as the Olympic Games, tennis Grand Slams, English Premier League matches, and major European football competitions.

Her appointment comes at a pivotal time as the Super Falcons continue their preparations for upcoming WAFCON. Akinsola’s wealth of experience is expected to enhance the team’s communication strategy and media presence on the global stage.
