Bayer Leverkusen are set to secure the signing of talented midfielder Malik Tillman, with all parties reaching a verbal agreement on the deal, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The total package for the transfer is expected to be in the region of €35–40 million. A long-term contract has been agreed with Tillman, who is now poised to join the Bundesliga champions ahead of the new season.
Bayern Munich have included a buy-back clause in the deal, giving them the option to re-sign the 23-year-old in the future. However, Leverkusen are confident that the verbal agreement is now in place and consider the deal essentially done.
Tillman, who spent last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven, is seen as a major addition to Xabi Alonso’s squad as Leverkusen look to build on their historic unbeaten Bundesliga title win.
