Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has revealed that he received a serious approach from Al Hilal, with the Saudi club expressing strong interest in signing him this summer.
Speaking candidly, Fernandes confirmed:
“There was an opportunity. The president called me and asked if I wanted to go there. They were waiting for me.”
However, the Portuguese midfielder disclosed that a conversation with coach Rúben Amorim played a key role in his decision to stay in Europe:
“I spoke to coach Amorim. He asked me not to go.”
Fernandes also emphasized Manchester United's stance, saying the club had no intention to sell him, even if he had pushed for a move:
“Manchester United didn’t want to sell me. They don’t need the money. If I had wanted to leave, they would have made it happen.”
The 29-year-old remains a pivotal figure at Old Trafford as the club prepares for a crucial summer rebuild. Despite big-money interest from Saudi Arabia, Fernandes appears fully committed to continuing at the highest level in Europe — at least for now.
