The Female Yellow Greens kicked off their Kwibuka Women’s T20i 2025 campaign with a narrow loss, falling just 6 runs short against a determined Zimbabwe HPC side on Tuesday at the Gahanga B Oval.
Batting first, Zimbabwe HPC posted a competitive total of 104/8 in 20 overs, setting the stage for a tense chase. The Nigerian women showed great grit and composure throughout their innings but ultimately ended at 98/7 in 20 overs, narrowly missing the mark in a game that went down to the wire.
Despite the defeat, it was a commendable performance from the team, filled with promise and determination. The squad remains upbeat and focused ahead of their next clash against Brazil on Wednesday at 12:30 PM (WAT).
