Kanyinsola Ajayi 🇳🇬 delivered a brilliant performance at the NCAA East Prelims in Florida, clocking a new Personal Best of 9.95s (0.6) to finish second in his 100m quarterfinal.
The Nigerian sprinter shaved 0.01s off his previous best but was narrowly beaten by Abdul-Rasheed Saminu 🇬🇭, who stormed to an astonishing 9.86s, setting a new Ghanaian national record and the fastest time in the world this year.
Meanwhile, Sunday Israel Okon 🇳🇬 also secured qualification for the NCAA Championships, running 10.13s despite a slow start and 5th-place finish in his heat.
Nigerian sprinting continues to rise with promising performances ahead of the championships.
