Victor Osimhen Reflects on Galatasaray's 1-1 Draw with AZ Alkmaar in UEFA Europa League

Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen shared his thoughts with Galatasaray TV following the team's 1-1 draw against AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Europa League’s fifth match of the regular season. The Nigerian striker, who scored the equalizing goal for Galatasaray, praised both his team and the opposition for their performance in what was a hard-fought encounter.

Osimhen acknowledged the quality of the team Galatasaray faced, stating, “Obviously we had a good performance tonight. The team we faced is also a good team. I think they were very successful individually and as a team." Despite the challenging opposition, Osimhen felt that Galatasaray showed resilience, creating several scoring opportunities throughout the match.

While the match ended in a 1-1 draw, Osimhen was optimistic about his team's performance, emphasizing the importance of taking the positives from the result. “We created a lot of chances, we could have scored the second goal,” he said, expressing belief that his team can build on their efforts in the remaining fixtures. “I think we need to take the positive side, this is a point,” he added, reflecting on the importance of maintaining a balanced outlook at this stage.

The striker also took a moment to express his gratitude towards the Galatasaray supporters, who showed unwavering support despite the tough weather conditions. “I also want to thank our fans very much,” Osimhen said. “They did not leave us alone in this weather and supported us throughout the 90 minutes.” His words underscored the significance of the fans' presence and energy, which remains a driving force for the team.

With the point secured against AZ Alkmaar, Galatasaray will continue to focus on their upcoming challenges in the UEFA Europa League as they look to progress to the knockout stage and aim for a strong finish in the competition.
