Nigeria Shines at 2024 African Athletics Championships in Douala

In a display of outstanding athleticism, Nigerian athletes have made their mark at the ongoing African Athletics Championships in Douala. Oyesade Olatoye secured a silver medal for Team Nigeria in the women's Hammer throw, with an impressive throw of 67.72 meters. Her performance not only showcased her prowess but also contributed significantly to Nigeria's medal tally.

In the men's long jump finals, Goodness Iredia clinched the bronze medal with a jump of 7.75 meters, narrowly edging out his compatriot Emmanuel Njokwu, who finished 4th with a jump of 7.72 meters. The gold medal in this event was claimed by Lionel Coetzee of Namibia, who leaped to victory with a mark of 7.78 meters.
